# Challenge Upgrades: Profit Split, Consistency, and Money Back

> Three optional upgrades you can add at checkout: a 90% profit split, a 50% consistency cap, and the money-back option that returns everything you paid.

Every challenge ships with a standard set of terms. At checkout you can change
three of them. Each upgrade is optional, priced separately, and fixed to the
account the moment you buy it.

## The three upgrades

| Upgrade                  | What changes                                                                  | Price                    |
| :----------------------- | :---------------------------------------------------------------------------- | :----------------------- |
| **90% profit split** | You keep 90% of funded profit instead of 80% | 20% of the challenge fee |
| **50% consistency rule** | Your best day may account for 50% of your winning days' profit instead of 30% | 15% of the challenge fee |
| **Money back** | Everything you pay at checkout is returned with your first approved payout | 40% of the challenge fee |

Prices are a share of the challenge's **list fee**, so a discount on the
challenge does not also discount the upgrades. What each one costs on each tier:

| Account size | 90% split | 50% consistency | Money back |
| :----------- | :-------- | :-------------- | :--------- |
| \$5,000      | \$10      | \$7             | \$20       |
| \$10,000     | \$25      | \$19            | \$50       |
| \$25,000     | \$60      | \$45            | \$120      |
| \$50,000     | \$100     | \$75            | \$200      |

<Note>
  Upgrades are bought once, at checkout, and cannot be added or removed
  afterwards. They carry over to the funded account you earn, so a split or a
  cap you buy today still applies when you are getting paid.
</Note>

## 90% profit split

A standard funded account pays you **80%** of your eligible profit. This upgrade
raises that to **90%** for the life of the account.

On \$1,000 of eligible funded profit, that is \$900 to you instead of \$800. The
upgrade pays for itself on the first payout at most sizes.

## 50% consistency rule

The consistency rule caps how much of your result one trading day may account
for. As standard, your best day cannot be more than **30%** of the combined
profit of your winning days, which means you need profit across at least four
profitable days. This upgrade raises the cap to **50%**, so two good days can
carry you.

The cap applies in two places, and the upgrade covers both:

* **On the challenge**, as part of the pass condition.
* **On every funded payout window**, measured over the profit earned since your
  last payout.

<Note>
  Consistency is a gate, never a breach. Being over the cap only delays a pass
  or a payout until your profit is spread out. It never fails or closes an
  account. Full detail on [Challenge rules](/challenges/rules).
</Note>

## Money back

Add this and **everything you pay at checkout comes back to you with your first
approved payout**. That includes the challenge fee, any other upgrades you
bought, and the price of the money-back option itself.

**Example.** You buy a \$25,000 challenge in a 50% sale, so the fee is \$150.
You add the 90% split (\$60), the 50% consistency cap (\$45), and money back
(\$120). You pay \$375 today. Reach your first approved payout and all \$375 is
returned to you on top of the payout itself. The challenge has cost you nothing.

Read this part carefully:

* It is returned **once**, on your **first approved payout** only.
* If you never reach an approved payout, it is **not returned**. Failing the
  challenge, failing the funded account, or never requesting a payout all mean
  the money stays spent.
* It is paid **on top of** your payout, not deducted from it, so it does not eat
  into your per-request cap.

<Warning>
  Money back is not a refund and not a guarantee against losing. It is returned
  only when you reach an approved payout on a funded account.
</Warning>

## How to buy them

Pick your account size on the [checkout page](https://polyfundr.com/checkout),
then choose your upgrades below it. The order summary updates as you go, so you
can see the total before you pay. Nothing is selected by default.
